Mary Lee Wood

Mary Lee Wood of Newberry, Florida, passed away peacefully at Haven Hospice in Gainesville, Florida on July 30, 2024. Born on September 6, 1930, Mary Lee was a lifelong resident of the Newberry area. She retired from the banking industry where she worked as a teller for many years. She was a member of the Jonesville Baptist Church. She was a sweet, kindhearted lady that loved her family and friends very much.Mary Lee is preceded in death by her parents, Ruff and Imogene Hodge; her husband of 63 years, Jackie Wood; and her sister, Marlene Keene. She is survived by her sons, Eddie and Tommy Wood of Newberry; and her sister, Jean Prowant (Dick) of Moore Haven, Florida. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Edie Lucas, Lindsey Houston (Derek) and Ashley Bowden; and four great-grandchildren, Treson Everett, Jaxon and Brielle Houston and Drew Wallen.The funeral service will be Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. at Jonesville Baptist Church with burial to follow at the Jonesville Cemetery.
