It is with tremendous sadness and heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of our son and brother, Aaron Carter Bates. Aaron went home to be with the Lord on February 23, 2022 in Jacksonville, Florida. An attorney with Bates Law LLC, Aaron dedicated his lifes purpose to being a voice for the voiceless, helping others who, like him, needed a warrior in their corner. Our family is grateful to all who loved, supported, and helped Aaron accomplish his goals and wish to thank everyone in advance for their prayers, condolences and love during this most difficult time.Survivors include his parents, Cynthia and Carter Bates, Jr., of Chesapeake, Virginia; a sister, Christin Bethany Bates; a brother, Ethan Duncan Bates, both of Dallas, Texas; and his grandmother, Barbara Funderburk of Jacksonville.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 3rd in First Baptist Church, 125 W. Ashley St., with Dr. Howard Everett "Eddie" Bumpers of Crossway Baptist Church, Springfield, Missouri, officiating. There will be a viewing at the church for one hour prior to the service.
