Adelina Gerry was born August 14, 1923 to Nicholas and Mary Cavagnaro in Richmond Hill, Queens, NY in the front room of their home. She was the youngest of six children. She attended Holy Child grammar School and Mary Louis Academy in Queens, NY. After HS she attended Berkely Business college in NYC and became secretary to the Vice President of B. Altman in NYC.During WWII she wrote a paper called the Richmond Hill Rambler which she sent to the "boys" in Europe from Richmond Hill. She took classes in NYC from Vance Packard.In 1949 she married Otto Gerry and they moved to Brockport, NY. They moved from there to Middletown, CT - to Louisville, KY and then to Gainesville, FL. Adelina was active in local theaters along the way including Little Colonel Theater in KY and the Gainesville Playhouse here in Gainesville. She also worked at channel 5 at the University of Florida for many years.She is a Catholic and a member of Holy Faith Catholic Church, Gainesville, FL.She is predeceased by her husband Otto Gerry and her grandson, Jamie Garvey. She is survived by her daughter Jacquie Garvey and grandchildren Curt and Beth Garvey of Gainesville, FL and many nieces and nephews.Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Forest Meadows East Military section at 11AM
