Adro Lester Johnson

Mr. Adro Lester Johnson age 63, of Starke passed away Sunday, January 5, 2020 in Gainesville. Mr. Johnson was born on June 24, 1956 in Starke and was a lifelong area resident. Adro retired from the Florida Department of Corrections as a Warden after 35 years of service. He served in the United States military and enjoyed fishing and his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Preceding him in death was his mother, Joyce (Johns) Johnson and his son Charles "Bug" Johnson. Survivors are: his wife of 43 years, Linda (Day) Johnson of Starke, daughter, Amanda Smith of Starke, father, Leslie G. Johnson of Starke, brothers, Billy Johnson of Starke and Leslie Johnson of New Orleans. Also left are his grandchildren, Roxanne Smith, Stephen Smith, Kymberly Smith and five great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the DEWITT C. JONES CHAPEL of Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home on Friday, January 10, 2020 from 5-7 PM. Private interment will be on Monday, January 13, 2019 in Santa Fe Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32606.
