Aimee Lambie McQuilkin, died June 11, 2013 at Penney Farms, Florida. Born May 16, 1916 in Philadelphia, she was raised in Columbia, S.C., daughter of the first president of Columbia International University, Robert C. McQuilkin, graduated from Columbia High School, Columbia Bible College, and Womens Medical College Hospital in Philadelphia.Aimee McQuilkin was celebrated for 40 years of pioneer medical, educational, and church work in the frontier region of northern Colombia, S.A. Her biography, Senorita Aimee, tells an incredible story of reaching out to extremely remote jungle and mountain regions of Colombia.McQuilkin is survived by younger brother Robertson McQuilkin and younger sister, Anne, both of Columbia, SC. She was predeceased by her father, Robert C. McQuilkin, her mother, Marguerite Lambie McQuilkin, and by sisters Virginia Bowers and Marguerite Cartee. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2:00 PM at the retirement center, Penney Farms, south of Jacksonville, where she lived for the last 17 years.
