Albert "Sam" Samorisky

Albert Samorisky, known to his friends as "Sam" passed away May 23, 2017 after a brief illness. Sam was born in Sykesville, PA on July 26, 1928 to his parents Kathryn & Joseph. At 17, he joined the Navy and was stationed in Jacksonville where he met and married the love of his life, Beatrice Mincy in 1946. They made their home and raised their family there. He had a long career with Eastern Airlines and after retiring, moved to Melrose. Sam was known to those who loved him as a character, who always had a funny story or a quick witted answer to share along with a caring and generous heart. He devoted his life to his wife, family and friends and will be greatly missed. "For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day." John 6:40. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bea; daughter, Patty Anders; daughter-in-law, Mary Kay and sister, Dorothy. He is survived by his two children; Joe Samorisky and Jeanine Fickling along with two sons in law, Billy Anders and Alan Fickling, who were like sons to him and a brother, Paul. He was also blessed with four grandchildren, Lisa Adams (Mal), Heather Mills (Michael), Blake Fickling (Courtney), Brent Fickling (Maggie) and three great grandchildren, Sutherlyn Adams, Avery & Hayes Fickling. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday, May 30th from 10:00-Noon, followed by a graveside service at 2:00pm at Jacksonville Memory Gardens in Orange Park, FL with Pastor Buster Appling officiating.
