Mr. Alexander Smith age 90, of Melrose passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Riverwood Health & Rehab Center in Starke. Mr. Smith was born on May 3, 1926 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Alexander and Clara (Black) Smith and moved to Melrose 3 years ago. Prior to retirement he worked for the railroad as a brakeman. Preceding him in death was his wife Alice (Gordon) Smith. Survivors are: daughters: Alice A. Morgan of Melrose and Peggy Powers of Virginia. He is also survived by his brother: Alan Smith of Maryland. Memorial services are not yet scheduled. Arrangements are by Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home of Starke 904-964-6200.
