Reverend Alfred Shelton Turner age 86, of Green Cove Springs passed way Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the Bradford Terrace Nursing Home. He was born in Henagar, Alabama on October 29, 1926 to the late Reuben and Velma (Yarbrough) Turner, and was raised around Sand Mountain, Alabama. Rev. Turner was the Manager for Deaton Truck Lines in Houston, Texas and following Bible College he later became the Associate Pastor for the Congregational Holiness Church in Green Cove Springs in the mid 80s where he was also a member for 20 years. He enjoyed baseball, singing hymns, having fellowship with his family and friends; being a Bible Scholar, he enjoyed teaching and sharing the bible with others. Preceding Rev. Turner in death was his wife of 22 years, Betty Turner. Survivors are his son; Jeff Turner his wife Misty of Starke, two beloved grandchildren, Meagan Turner (Patrick) Norman) and Corey Turner. Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the Congregational Holiness Church with Reverend Ronnie Surrency officiating.
