Mrs. Alice Eva Arwood age 82 of Starke passed away Monday, August 3, 2009 at Bradford Terrace Nursing Home. Mrs. Arwood was born on January 11, 1927 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Cecil and Emma Benney Cook and moved to Starke in 1972 from Michigan. Mrs. Arwood was a true Entrepreneur undertaking many business projects; her last one was Grannys Best Restaurant in down town Starke. Survivors are: daughters: Judy Britton of Summerfield; Nancy Patrick of Starke; Merri Ormsbee of Alachua; sons: William Ormsbee of Micanopy; Charles Ormsbee of Milton, PA; brother: David Cook of Bloomingdale, MI; grandchildren: Shannon Edwards Whitaker and Michael Tex Patrick both of Starke; Amanda Patrick Williams and J.T. Patrick both of Groveland; Octavia Perfetto of St. Petersburg; Sonia A. Bhagat of Washington D.C.; six great grandchildren. Memorial services for Mrs. Arwood will be on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel, 514 E. Nona St., Starke with Mike Plant officiating.
