Mrs. Alice Winnie Silcox JenkinsMrs. Alice Winnie Silcox Jenkins age 96, of Starke passed away February 23, 2011 at Windsor Manor Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mrs. Jenkins was born on July 25, 1914 in Bradford County to the late James Lacy and Dahmer Alice Tillis Silcox and was a lifelong area resident. Alice was a member of Kingsley Lake Baptist Church and prior to retirement worked at Sunland Training Center for 11 years, and Bradford County School Board for 13 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Bud Jenkins and children: Betty Brown and Charles Lacy Jenkins. Survivors are her daughters: Edna Dooling (Bill) of Bushnell; Jackie Higginbotham (Bobby) of Starke; Janice Pownall (Fraooh) of Melbourne; brother: George C. Silcox of Orlando; many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. The family will receive friends in the DEWITT C. JONES CHAPEL in Starke on Saturday, February 26, 2011 from 6-8 PM. Graveside funeral services will be on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at 2:00 PM in Kingsley Lake Cemetery with Pastor Zeb Cook officiating.
