Allen B. Whitehead

Mr. Allen B. Whitehead age 79, a longtime resident of Bradford County passed away Sunday, December 8, 2019 at home with his loving family at his side. He was born on March 7, 1940 in Starke, Florida to the late Allen B. and Leona Whitehead. He served in the U.S. Army and the Florida National Guard for 20 years, and retired in 2001 form E.I. DuPont Company. A.B. served as a board member of the Florida Farm Bureau Association for 20 years and was a past member of the Florida Cattlemans Association. He attended First Baptist Church of Starke and loved the outdoors, including gardening. He especially enjoyed sharing his beloved citrus and other fruits with family and friends. His greatest love was spending time with his grandchildren, whom he considered his "life". In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Larry Allen Whitehead. Survivors are: his wife of 55 years, Faye Whitehead, children, Kimberly (Dale) Hayes, Terry (Chris) Whitehead, grandchildren, Joshua Allen (Colleen) Hayes, Sarah Hayes, Hunter Whitehead, Kaylie Whitehead and Maci Whitehead, great granddaughter, Ellie Marie Hayes. He loved the Lord and will be forever missed by all who loved him.The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church of Starke on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 P.M. with funeral services beginning at 1 oclock.
