Mr. Alois "Woody" C. Woodrow age 97 of Starke passed away Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Haven Hospice in Lake City following an extended illness. He was born January 27, 1926, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Alois and Elizabeth Woodrow. Mr. Woodrow served in the United States Navy during WWII. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer and worked as an electrician at Cecil Field for over 30 years before retiring in 1999. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church in Jacksonville as well as the Navel Fleet Reserve Association. Mr. Woodrow leaves behind his wife of 12 years Gloria (Tharpe) Woodrow; two children Rich Armstrong of Gainesville and Patricia "Patty" Sendelbach of Houston, Texas and four grandchildren. Mr. Woodrow has requested to be buried at sea with no services. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts can be made to Haven Hospice of Lake City.
