Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Angelo Rodriguez on February 13, 2025. Angelo was born, Angel Luis Rodriguez, on December 1, 1939, to Juan and Carmen Rodriguez in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico.As a teenager, Angelo moved to upstate New York with his sister, where he lived for several years before moving to New York City where he met and married Carmen, the love of his life. They had three boys together before moving to Gainesville in 1974. Angelo worked for the City of Gainesville for 10 years prior to opening two businesses, Yesterday s Vehicles and Rainbow Painting and Design. Angelo enjoyed working on cars and painting and he enjoyed his customers even more, many of which became life-long friends! Angelo loved going to the beach and the lake, going to the races, traveling to Puerto Rico, and spending time with his family.Angelo is survived by: Carmen, his beautiful wife of almost 63 years; sons Luis (Pennie), David (Angel), Stevie (Melanie); daughter Savannah Rodriguez; grandchildren Nicole Benham, Josh Holbrook, Ashley Holbrook, Kacy Rodriguez, Keri Parnell (Colton), Kelley Sallustio (Eric), Mitchel Mason (Hannah), Emily Miller(Michael), Steven Rodriguez (Makayla) and Miranda Rodriguez; he also leaves behind 13 great grandchildren; brother Pablo (Aida) and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends. Services will be held on Thursday, February 20th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM (Viewing from 5:00 - 6:00 and Service from 6:00pm - 7:00pm) at Forest Meadows Funeral Home: 725 NW. 23rd Ave., Gainesville, FL 32609.
