Ms. Anna Ruth Johnson age 73, of Starke passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013 suddenly. Ms. Johnson was born on August 7, 1939 in Starke to the late Floyd R. Crosby, Sr. and Theresa (Bennett) Crosby and was a lifelong resident. Anna Ruth graduated from Bradford High School in 1956 and prior to retirement worked for the Bradford County School Board as a Food Service Manager. She was a long time member of Madison Street Baptist Church and from 1982 2011 could be seen at all Bradford County Schools sporting events taking tickets. Preceding her in death were her sisters, Wanda Crews and Mary Alice Stanley. Survivors are: sons: Chub Johnson; Chuck Johnson (Terri); Jeff Johnson (Carrie) all of Starke; brothers: Floyd Russell Crosby, Jr. (Judy) of the Villages; Marty Bennett Crosby (Linda) of Gainesville; grandchildren: Cody Johnson (Julie); Logan Johnson (Kaitlyn); Nick Johnson (Camri); and Ashley Johnson; brother-in-law: Harold Crews; daughter-in-law: Joy Johnson; close family friend: Pat Crawford. In July she was expecting her first great granddaughter Rylin Johnson. The family will receive friends at MADISON STREET BAPTIST CHURCH on Friday, June 14, 2013 from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 10:00 am at Madison Street Baptist Church with Reverend Justin Kirksey, Reverend Charles Warren and Reverend Scott Crook officiating. Interment will follow in Crosby Lake Cemetery.
