Ms. Anna May Tillou, 102, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the Pavilion of Penney Farms. Ms. Tillou was born February 27, 1913 in East Aurora, New York to the late Harris and Iva (Hendry) Tillou. She held a Master of Arts Degree from Duke University and was a missionary. Ms. Tillou founded Special Education in India during her missionary work there and opened 2 institutions; The Baldwin Opportunity School of India and The Tillou Cottage for Mentally Challenged Women. She served in the United States Marine Corps and was the oldest living Marine Corp Veteran in Clay County. Survivors are her nephew, Nelson Tillou (Ida), great nieces, Tania John of Virginia and Kristina John-Gabriel (Ernest) of Maryland, great great niece, Makayla Gabriel, as well as several cousins and extended family throughout the United States. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
