Anna Margaret Smith

Anna Margaret Smith, age 92, of Gainesville passed away Wednesday, June 13th at E.T. York Hospice Center of Gainesville.She was born April 10, 1926 in Richland County Illinois to Earl Clayton and Lillie May Buchanon Tarpley. After marrying Donald Channing Smith June 26, 1955 in Denver Colorado, they lived in Missouri where she was a homemaker, until moving to Gainesville in 1975 where she worked at the Florida Farm Bureau. They were members of the First Baptist Church of Gainesville.She is survived by their 5 children; David Channing (Donna), Donna Ann (Nestor) Moreno, Douglas Earl (Deborah), Richard Tarpley (JoAnn), and Michael Ferguson (Sally); 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Gainesville or the E.T. York Hospice Center of Gainesville.Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 2:00PM at First Baptist Church of Gainesville with a visitation one hour prior to services.
