Annie Mae Barker

Mrs. Annie Mae Alvarez Mercer Barker age 90, of Starke passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016. Annie was born on September 23, 1925 in Bradford County to the late Great Britain and Annie Lorraine (Crosby) Alvarez and was a lifelong resident of Starke. She was a homemaker and member of Madison Street Baptist Church. Preceding her in death was her husband Bethel J. Barker, Children: Larry Mercer, Eloise Mercer Hood, and Johnny Mac Mercer. Survivors are: daughters: Donna Wise (Gary) of Starke and Dottie Fay Thomas of Orlando, sisters: Lucille Roy of Hollywood, FL, JoAnn Lloyd (Wayne) and Carolyn Alvarez both of Palatka. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the DEWITT C. JONES CHAPEL of Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm with funeral services beginning at 2 oclock with Pastor Roman Alvarez officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Crosby Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2121 SW 16th Street, Gainesville, FL 32608.
