Annie Elizabeth Corbin Heckard, 72, died on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at ET York Hospice Care Center.Mrs. Heckard was born in Old Town to Berry and Ethel Peacock Corbin on July 3, 1940, She graduated from Williston High School, and moved to Gainesville in 1958.Annie was an Assistant Manager with Bell South and trained the Operators.She was a member of WestsideBaptistChurch. She loved serving the Lord and was a devout Christian Woman.Annie loved quilting and shopping for the quilting materials. But first and foremost in her life was her family. She loved caring for everyone, extended family included.Mrs. Heckard was preceded in death by her husband, and 2 brothers, Nelson and Kenneth.She is survived by her children William Barry Heckard, and Susan Heckard Petty; 2 brothers, Johnny and James Corbin; 2 sisters,Kathryn Deen and Marion Barbour. She also has 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.The family will receive friends at Forest Meadows Funeral Home, on Friday, March 29, 2013 from 5 -7 pm.
