Mrs. Annie Hazel (Price) Stephens Reader age 87, of Lawtey passed away at her home Tuesday, July 2, 2013 following a brief illness. She was born in Alkol, West Virginia, July 12, 1925 to the late Albert Allen and Nettie A. (Martin) Price, and has been a resident of Lawtey since 2005 moving from Tyrone, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Reader had started her career as a Nurses Aide working in hospitals and in her later years working in nursing homes before her retirement. She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, camping, and going to yard sales. She was preceded in death by her eleven siblings and her husband, James Roy Reader. Survivors are her two sons and one daughter along with their families: (son) James Stephens, his wife Magda of Lawtey, their two children, Christina Stephens and Tim Stephens, his wife JoAnn and their families, Jessica Stephens, Kristiana Ella Stephens and Parker Chaney; (son) John Stephens, wife Bonnie of Tyrone, Pennsylvania and their two children, Melissa Stephens and Johnny Stephens, his wife Heather and their families, Stevie Lynn Snyder, Daemyn Stephens, Roeth Martin, and Emberlynn Stephens; (daughter) Gloria Stephens Damone and her two children Karen Wardle, her husband Preston and Chris Coppola and their families, Rachael and Parker Wardle. Also left behind is her nephew, Freddie Meadows and several other nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 12 noon on Tuesday, July 9, 2013, in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel with Pastor Larry Finley officiating.
