Annie Macy Tuell, 94, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Born October 4, 1923, she was the youngest daughter of Leonard and Nancy Eva Macy of Hardinsburg, Kentucky. Annie graduated from Bryant Stratton Business College in Louisville, KY. where she met and married her loving husband of 46 years, Lt. Col. E. L. Tuell, USAF. They moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1953. Annie retired from the Duval County School Board in 1995, and was a former member of the Shrine Sheba Club. She was the first PTA president of Greenfield Elementary and a member of Spring Glen United Methodist Church. Annie enjoyed music, dancing, quilting, crafting, antiquing, and most of all, the Kentucky Derby. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandson. In addition to her late husband, Annie is predeceased by her daughter, Nancy Lee Tuell, her son, Terry Macy Tuell, and her sister, Thelma Macy Carter. She is survived by daughters, Susan Shoraka, Jax., FL, and Carolyn (Dr. Clay) Baynham, Tequesta, FL , grandchildren, Dr. Sareh Shoraka Dyer (Zach), Oviedo, FL, Jake Baynham, Orlando, FL, Ivanna Tuell, and Alexa Tuell, San Diego, CA, great- grandson, Noah Dyer, of Oviedo, FL, daughter-in-law Maria Tuell, San Diego, CA, and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 1:00PM at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Boulevard Jacksonville, Florida with Rev. Billy Jones officiating. The family would like to thank Dr. Susan Hoffman, Dr. Trevor Greene, and the Medical staff on 4 Central at Memorial Hospital for the excellent quality care provided.
