On Tuesday, August 13, 2019, Armando "Mading" Gomez Liwanag, loving husband and father of three children, passed away at age 70.Armando was born on December 20, 1948 in San Fernando, Pampanga, Philippines. He is the son of Lorenzo "Deso" Liwanag and Lucina "Lucing" Gomez Liwanag and is the 3rd oldest out of 13 children. He immigrated to the United States in 1983 and first lived in Corpus Christi, Texas and Jacksonville, Florida, before settling in San Francisco, California in 1985. On June 22, 1985, he married Amelita "Mely" Garcia Marucut. They raised three children, Arvin, Aimee, and Arman.Armando was a simple, honest, and generous man who loved his family very much. He was hard working and was known for his kind and compassionate spirit. Armando always encouraged others to do their best and to always respect one another. He was also an avid country music lover and always kept up-to-date with current events through reading the daily newspaper.Armando was preceded in death by his father, Lorenzo "Deso" Liwanag, and his brother, Ruben "Ben" Liwanag. He is survived by his wife, Amelita, his three children Arvin, Aimee, and Arman, his granddaughter Audrey, his mother Lucina "Lucing" Liwanag, 7 brothers, 4 sisters and several nieces and nephews.A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 22nd from 5-7pm at George H. Hewell & Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd., S.
