Art Swett

Art Swett, 71, of Gainesville, FL, went to be with the Lord on November 9, 2020, at Haven Hospice Care Center. Art was born in Huntington Station, New York on November 23, 1948 to Arthur and Anna Swett.Art served as Assistant Minister of Music/Teacher at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Ft. Wayne, IN for 10 years, Minister of Music/Teacher at Faith Lutheran Church, Eustis, FL for 16 years, and as Minister of Music at First Lutheran Church, Gainesville, FL for 18 years. After retiring in 2014, Art served as a substitute organist in various churches. He was an active member of the American Guild of Organists.In his free time, Art enjoyed building and flying radio-controlled model airplanes, woodworking, fishing, and vacationing with family and friends. Art was also actively involved in his church in various ways.Art is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marlene, two children, Jonathan (Jessie) and Jessica (Danny), three grandchildren, Jonah, Johannah, and Jenna, grandpuppy, Nala, brother, Gary, and other family andfriends.Art will be laid to rest on Thursday, November 12 th in a private family service at Forest Meadows Cemetery Central in Gainesville, FL. A memorial service will be held at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church on Saturday, November 14 th at 10:30am.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Haven Hospice of Gainesville, FL, the Music Ministry of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, 9700 W.
