Mrs. Arvonia May Ennis, 87 of Keystone Heights passed away at her home on Thur. Dec. 24, 2009 surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Ennis was born in Peekskill, NY on Feb. 20, 1922 to the late Stephen and Viola (Shaw) Mathews. Prior to moving to Florida, Mrs. Ennis worked as a dietician for the Lakeland School Dist. in New York and was a member of the St. Peters Episcopal Church in Peekskill. In 1987, she had moved to Keystone Heights from Tamarac, FL and attended the St. Annes Episcopal Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Ennis is survived by her children: Arvonia Glenn and Maureen Burch both of Keystone Heights and William S. Ennis of Palatka. Grandchildren: Stephen Ennis, Jan-William Ennis, Patrick Booth, Dawn Renzi, Veronica Hampton, Michael Keith, and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Leonard William Ennis and her grandson Edwin Puls. The family will be having a memorial service on Wed. Jan. 6, 2010 at 6 oclock at 5749 Overlook Dr. West, Keystone Heights, FL 32656. Burial will be at the Keystone Heights Cemetery.
