She was raised in Bell, Florida, graduatedfrom Bell High School, and moved to Gainesville, FL to pursue a degree in nursing.She worked as a registered nurse for many years at Alachua General Hospital(Gainesville, FL), Putnam Community Medical Center (Palatka, FL), General Electric(Alachua, FL), and North Florida Evaluation and Treatment Center (Gainesville, FL).She and her husband owned Bell's Pecan Grove in Melrose, FL for 40 years beforerelocating back to Gainesville, FL.Barbara Bell is preceded in death by herfather, Lee Royce Walker, mother, Ethel HazelWalker, husbands, Marvis L. Bell and Raymond W.
