CHISM: Memorial services for Barbara Gail Chism, 73, who passed away on July 20, 2021, will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4747 Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206 with Rev. Steve Berry officiating. Mrs. Chism was born in Jesup, Georgia and was a longtime resident of Jacksonville, Florida. She had retired from Genuine Auto Parts (NAPA) on Haines Street after 29 years of service. Later She retired from Sea Star Shipping Lines. She was a member of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her step-daughter, Sheila Yvette Denton, sister, Arlene MacAllister and brother, Jackie Thornton; Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Robert Michael Chism; 2 daughters, Ursula Chism and Lelana Chism; 1 son, Randall Kenneth Chism (Beth); 2 sisters, Randall Kenneth Chism (Beth); 2 sisters, Trudy Deraway and Cassie Henderson; 2 brothers, Hank Thornton and Jody Thornton; 7 grandchildren, Maria Lee (Cameron), Brandon Williams (Sarai), Tyler Chism (Cat), Devin Bryan (Caleb), Kiara Chism (Bradley), Kenny Chism, and Treasur McAllister; 5 great-grandchildren; Numerous nieces and nephews..Memorial ServiceGeorge H.
