Barbara L.
Fogarty
May 20, 1934 — May 14, 2026
"Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your Master." Matthew 23:23
A true native of Florida, Barbara was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida on May 20, 1934
Barbara Fogarty wore many hats at St. Madeleine. She and husband, Jim Fogarty, moved to High Springs in 1989 and immediately became active parishioners. Never once did it occur to her, she would have the distinction of having the longest tenure on the Parish Council. She served as president, vice president and secretary. She was also active in Prime Timers, Woman's Guild, Capital Campaign Committee, Stewardship Committee and Columbiettes.
Barbara and Jim spent summers at their cabin in North Carolina where they attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryson City.
She graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in Jacksonville, retired from Florida Farm Bureau as it's recording secretary after 29 years. Barbara was selected twice as Legal Secretary of the Year by the Gainesville Legal Association.
Most important to her was her family. She was "Mother" to Robert Michael Perry (wife Jennifer) and Patrick H. Perry (wife Pamela). She was proud of her daughters-in-law. The mention of grandchildren brought a sparkle to her eye. Christina (husband Matt) and Patrick C. (wife Lauren) were so very special and had a very special relationship with their Nana. Barbara was blessed with a great-grandson, Nico, born on May 14, 2026.
"One life can touch so many others. As the years go by and leave a warm loving legacy. A word somehow more beautiful more filled with joy and hope. Because one life was lived so splendidly."
