RICH-KIRKLAND On February 18, 2015 God called and Barbara Rich Kirkland answered. She is now in the arms of her sweet Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Barbara was saved at the age of 10 years old. She loved Jesus and served him faithfully at First Baptist Church for 61 years. Barbara was a Jacksonville native and worked for Bell South for 27 years before retiring in 1988. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Charles E. Rich, Jr. She is survived by her children Richard Rich and Shirley Thompson (Eddie); granddaughter Angela McDowell (Kyle); great-grandchildren Scott, Bryce & Kailey; sister Frances Hoskins and many extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday February 21, 2015 in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd., S. with Dr. Bob Barton officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends for the hour prior to service at the funeral home.
