Obituary

Barbara Michaels

August 23, 1939 – October 31, 2025

Barbara Michaels, 86, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on October 31, 2025. She was

born and raised in Steubenville, Ohio, to the late Steven Auch and the late Lydia Auch (Falasca).

Barbara is survived by her three beloved children, Debra Cohn, Douglas Michaels, and David

Michaels, her loving partner of nearly 35 years, Curtis Fairman; her 5 cherished

grandchildren by her children, Samantha, Matthew, Kevin, Ryan and Sean; 10 cherished grandchildren that she shared with her partner and his children, Cassie Novosel, Jodi Mack, the late Curt Fairman and the late Breanna Novosel, Ethan, Ava, Myla, Nadia, Mariah, Brooklyn, Braelyn, Reaghan, Kinslee and Charlie; and 3 precious great-grandchildren, Miles, Noa and Taylor. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ed Auch, whose wife Laura survives him.

Barbara was known for her kindness, patience, and unwavering love for her family. She also had a son-in-law, Andy Cohn, and a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Michaels, with whom, in her typical fashion, she stayed connected with through her love of family.

She found joy in connecting with people everywhere she lived, forming friendships that

lasted a lifetime. Whether it was through her moves across the country or her presence on

Facebook, Barbara always found a way to stay connected to the people she loved even though they were spread out across the country. She knew how to make them feel loved even if it was through a phone call or a message online.

She loved sharing recipes online—even if she didn't always cook them—and was

known for her warmth, and her ability to make everyone around her feel special and heard.

Barbara's genuine kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her family and friends will remember her for her caring soul, and the love that she showed for everyone.

Arrangements are under the care of Moloney Hewell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers,

the family suggests a donation to Feeding America at https://www.feedingamerica.org/ or to

family and friends in the near future.
