Barbara Jean Lester Owensby of Green Cove Springs, Florida passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2014. She was born in LaGrange, Georgia March 17, 1932 to Marvin and Macie Lester. She received a degree from Florida Junior College at Jacksonville. She retired from Methodist Medical Center accounting department. She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Thomas Hugh Owensby. She is survived by two sons, Michael Owensby of Green Cove Springs, Florida and Charles Owensby of Keystone Heights, Florida; two daughters, Mary Holder (Cecil) of Jacksonville, Florida and Barbara Street of Green Cove Springs, Florida; three grandchildren, Lauren Owensby, Amanda Holder McElfresh and Will Street; four great-grandchildren, Connor Hogan, Emma Gray, Jackson McElfresh and Emily McElfresh. Memorial services will be held at Holiday Hill Baptist Church, 730 Mandalay Road, Jacksonville, Florida, at 11:00am, Saturday, November 15, 2014, with Pastor Albert Byrd officiating. Graveside services in Shadowlawn Cemetery, LaGrange, Georgia will be held at a later date.
