With a deep sense of sorrow and loss, our family announces the passing of Barbara Lee Pridgen (Granny) on September 28, 2024, at the age of 86 while surrounded by loved ones.Barbara was born on October 1, 1937, to Jack and Lorene Bobak in Willoughby, Ohio. She moved to Florida when she was 13 years old where she continued to live out her life. While in South Florida, she met the love of her life, Verlon "Bill" Pridgen. Barbara and Bill were married in 1957 and completed their family with the addition of Marc and Lesli. She was a dedicated homemaker with a passion for sewing before joining her husband at McDavid Typewriter for over a decade.Barbara lived her life exemplifying Christs love. She remained steadfast in her faith, and diligent in her beliefs. Her daily walk with Christ was unwavering. She radiated Gods love to all she encountered. She served as a devoted member of Trinity Baptist Church, serving in the choir, Awana, and vacation bible school. She continued demonstrating her faith by volunteering in her community through various organizations including Lake Area Ministries. Those who knew her valued her beautiful soul. Compassionate and kind to all, the world was lucky to have her for 86 wonderful years. Barbara is survived by her husband of 67 years, Bill Pridgen; a son, Marc (Donna) Pridgen; a daughter, Lesli (Greg) Wheeler; grandchildren, Ashley (John Robert) Pridgen-Blake, Gregory Wheeler Jr., Samantha (Curtis) Burkhardt, Alison (Garrett) Pridgen, Cindy Pridgen, Hannah Wheeler, Luke Wheeler, and Simon Wheeler; great-grandchildren, Skarlette Blake, Jackson Blake, and Lena Wheeler; and a sister, Charlotte Arthur. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.She was preceded in death by her mother, Lorene Bobak; her father, Jack Bobak; and sister, Loretta Arocha. Visitation will be held at 10am on Saturday, October 5th, 2024, followed by the funeral service at 11am at Trinity Baptist Church at 3716 State Rd 21, Keystone Heights, FL, 32656.
