Barry Steven Sams (64) of Jacksonville, FL passed away on August 26, 2023. A funeral service will beheld at 11AM on Saturday, September 2, 2023 in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home,4140 University Boulevard, South Jacksonville, FL 32216 with Pastor John Philips officiating. The burialwill take place in Greenlawn Cemetery. Barry grew up in Jacksonville, FL, and took pride in his lawncare business that he owned for 30+ years. He loved playing the bass guitar and spending time in his jam room, jamming out to everything from rock to blues. When he wasnt playing music, he loved watching old westerns and spending time in the garage restoring cars and motorcycles, a passion he had from a very young age. He loved hanging out with his family and friends and always had a way of making everyone around him laugh with his larger-than-life personality and hilarious stories. Barry is survived by his father Robert L. Sams, mother Ann Kirkland Sams of Jacksonville, FL, his daughter Stephanie Sams of Jacksonville, FL, his son Steven Sams of Jacksonville, FL. Two sisters; Martha Cahill of Interlaken, FL and Debi Brohl of St. Johns, FL, a brother Bobby Sams, Jr. of Jasper, FL, a granddaughter; Angelina Cazares of Jacksonville, FL and his special dog, Tuco. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
