Bavoo J Kurupachery beloved husband of Mary passed away at Shands Hospital in Gainesville on March 03, 2025. He was a resident of Gainesville since 1978. Bavoo, born in Pallippuram, Kerala, India held a masters degree in business from India and was a full professor at St. Alberts College in Kerala, India. He also received the Specialist in Education degree from the University of Florida after arrival in Gainesville. He was an educator and held various management positions at the Gainesville Job Corps. He was passionate about mentoring, teaching, and interacting with young people.Bavoo is survived by his loving wife, Mary of almost 62 years, son, Sony (Christina),daughters Reena (W. Thomas), Zeena (Michael), and Doly (Peter), six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by Kevin (son-in-law). His favorite past time was watching Gator sports while spending time with his family. Bavoo was a long-time active parishioner of Holy Faith Catholic Church and a member of the local Knights of Columbus. He loved God above all. His walk of faith inspired all who knew him.A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12pm on Saturday, March 8th at Holy Faith Catholic Church at 747 NW 43rd St in Gainesville followed by a reception at the Parish Life Center at the church. Interment will follow the reception at St. Madeleine Catholic Church at 17155 US-441 N in High Springs, Florida. All are invited to the viewing to be held at Forest Meadows Funeral Home at 725 NW 23rd Ave in Gainesville.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to St. Francis Catholic Academy at 4100 NW 115th Terrace in Gainesville.
