Mrs. Beatrice Duke-Echols age 99 of Keystone Heights passed away at her daughters home Edgewater Friday, February 19, 2021. She was born April 5, 1921, in Wildwood to John Madison and Daisy (Norman) Hudson. Mrs. Echols was a retired grocery clerk and caregiver. She is a member of Servants Quarters Fellowship in New Smyrna Beach and was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Keystone Heights for nearly 17 years. Mrs. Echols was a crafter and enjoyed sewing and cooking. She was also known for taking care of children and making sure they had clothes and food. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her two husbands James Matthew Duke, Sr. and Clifford E. Echols and her two children John Hudson Duke and Norma Suzi Duke Walker Christie-Tedder. She is survived by her two children Guilda Lockhart (Joseph) of Edgewater and James M. Duke, Jr. (Barbara) of San Diego, California along with nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren. Viewing will be Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the graveside beginning at 1:30 p.m. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor David Starkey and Pastor Daniel Findley officiating.
