Behnam Bebawi, 69, of Interlachen Florida peacefully departed to the bosom of the Lord on January 1, 2026.

Born on February 5, 1956 in Cairo, Egypt to Boshra Botros and Aida Mousa.  Known for his humor, kindness, and craftsmanship, Behnam spent much of his time painting, woodburning, carving, gardening, riding his motorcycle, and his many pets.

Behnam is survived by his spouse, Carol Kony Bebawi, siblings,  Pauline (Maurice Kest), Bider (Nadia Bibawy), Berta (Nabil Botros),  Beatrice (Mina Salama), Baraxina (Magdi Kaldas) and Berty (Odette Shawky), 13 nephews and nieces, and 13 grand nephews and grand nieces in Egypt and the USA.  He was preceded in death by his Father Boshra, his Mother Aida, and sister Bernadette.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday January 7, 2026 in the Chapel at Forest Meadows Central Cemetery, 4100 NW 39th Ave. Gainesville, FL 32606
