Belle West Slocumb

Mrs. Belle West Slocumb age 76, a longtime resident of Keystone Heights passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018 in Gainesville following an extended illness. She was born May 29, 1942 in Pomeroy, Ohio to Major and Lucy (Thornton) Justes. Prior to retiring, Mrs. Slocumb worked in the retail industry as a manager for many years. If she wasnt reading a Western or Romance novel you could probably find her watching the television show "Golden Girls". She also loved spending time with her family, especially during the summers when ALL the grandchildren would come and stay with her. Her parents and a son Michael had all preceded her in death. Survivors are her husband of twenty-two years, Art Slocumb of Keystone Heights; two sons Tom West of Wyoming and Larry West (Michelle) of Naples and a brother Don Justes of West Virginia. Also left behind are, a daughter in-law Margie West of Inverness; sister and brother in-law Camille Farley (Byron) of Jacksonville along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family members and friends. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
