Mr. Ben G. Mizell, Jr. 82 of Keystone Heights died at his home on Saturday, April 24, 2010. Mr. Mizell was born in Baldwin, FL on April 14, 1928 to the late Benjamine Godfrey and Vera Lee (Helton) Mizell, Sr. Mr. Mizell had been a long time resident of the area and a member of the Keystone Heights Presbyterian Church. Mr. Mizell was a retired Captain from the JAX NAS Fire Department and he was also a Barber. His survivors include his wife of 57 years, Lucy Alvarez, and their daughters, Martha Ann Mizell of Keystone Heights and Pattie Hulon of Melrose; Sisters, Ione McDonnell of Tulsa, OK and Betty Thrift of Jacksonville, FL, 5 grandchildren, Virginina Hallonquist and Benjamine Hallonquist both of Keystone Heights, Christopher Poppell, Kyle Poppell, and Taylor Poppell all of Melrose, and 1 great grandchild Jasmyn Mizell. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Mizell Poppell Thomas. A memorial service for Mr. Mizell will be held on Friday, April 30, 2010 at 11 oclock in the Keystone Heights Presbyterian Church with Pastor Brad Williams officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Keystone Heights Cemetery.
