Benjamin "Ben" Franklin Dickerson

Mr. Benjamin "Ben" Franklin Dickerson, III age 78, of Starke passed away Monday, October 21, 2019 at Shands UF. Benjamin was born on October 26, 1940 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Benjamin Franklin Dickerson, Jr and Carmella (LaGreca) Dickerson. Mr. Dickerson began a radio career in Philadelphia in 1961 and later went into TV-Engineering, including working for the CBS Network. He and his late wife Ruth, wanted to relocate to Florida and in 1983 purchased WPXE radio station along with a Radio Shack and record store in Starke. Over the years his business evolved into the radio station WEAG of Starke. Survivors are: his wife, Dorothy "Dot" (Degnan) Dickerson of Starke, Chuck and Mary Kramer of Hampton Lake, Lyn, Tony and Dani Veliz of Starke along with Pumpkin and Kitters. A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at 3:00 P.M. at the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel of JONES-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME.
