Bennie "Bj" Kerce Warwick

Mrs. Bennie Jo "BJ" Kerce Warwick age 76 of Starke passed away Friday, May 22, 2020, at her sisters home in Starke following a strong battle against cancer. She was born in Union County March 8, 1944, to the late Henry and Sarah "Granny Pete" (Fulgham) Kerce. BJ graduated from Palatka High School in 1963 and just recently retired from the State of FL Dept. of Military Affairs as their accountant for the past 21 years. She was of the Baptist Faith and always very involved volunteering in the community; in 1995-1996 she was awarded the Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the year and Humanitarian of the year awards. BJ was also a Board Member of the Bradford County Education and was very involved with the Florida Youth Challenge. In her spare time she enjoyed going to the beach but most of all she loved spending time with her family and helping others. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her siblings Ida Sue Kerce Schmidt, Robert Fulgham, Clarence "Cooter Bob" Kerce; a step brother Hank Kerce and step sister Genell Kerce Alexander. Left behind are her two sons Jeffery Warwick (Sharon) of Jacksonville and Chan Warwick of Starke and Palatka along with five siblings Jeanette Kerce Abbott of Tampa, Sharon Kerce Smith of Starke, Cosette Kerce Howard (Mike) of Brooker, Jerry Kerce of Starke and Donald Kerce (Gail) of Tennessee. Also left behind are BJs three precious grandchildren Jed, Julianna, and Jake in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and extended family and friends that will miss her dearly.
