Mrs. Bettie June Johnson, 79, of Keystone Heights passed away at St. Vincents Medical Center, Thursday, August 20, 2015. She was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas on November 21, 1935 to the late Toye and Cressie (Harvey) Bell. She was mostly a homemaker but had also worked as a Certified Nurses Assistant in Macclenny. Mrs. Johnson moved to Keystone Heights in 1984 from Jacksonville and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She also enjoyed crocheting, playing solitaire, working on crossword puzzles and growing up she was known as a "tomboy". Mrs. Johnsons husband, Herbert Johnson, Sr. and two sons, Noel and Herbert Johnson, Jr. had all preceded her in death. Her survivors are four sons; John Johnson of Keystone Heights, Mark Johnson and his wife Julie, Terry Johnson, and Daniel Johnson all of Jacksonville. She also leaves behind one sister, Barbara Gordon and 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. A memorial service for Bettie will be held at a later date.
