Betty Edwards passed away with her family by her side at her home after an extended illness. Betty was born, raised, married, and settled in Bradford County. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 60 years, J.M. Edwards, her parents Eugene and Lois Long, her brothers Robert and Eugene Long, and her cherished grandson Justin Edwards. She is survived by her children: Tom Edwards, Patricia Wainwright (Tom Smith), Sue Moredock (Howe), Zack Edwards, and Debbie Kavanaugh (Tom). Her grandchildren: Shannon Whitaker (Clay), Drew Wainwright (Kara), Denyse Edwards, Lindsey Williams (Jimmy), Matthew Hull, Adam Wainwright (Laura), Allison Davis (Tatum), Zachary Hull, and Taylor Hull. Along with seventeen great-grandchildren (plus one more on the way), one great-great grandchild, her sister Martha Epps (Shawna and Shae) and lifetime friend, Helen Crosby. To those who knew Betty, as Momma, Granny, or Ms. Betty, you also knew that her door was always open, and that she would set an extra place at her table for you to share a meal. She had several careers throughout her lifetime, but her true passion was the brahman cattle industry. She and J.M. spent decades breeding, raising, and showing award winning brahman cattle. In 2017 the Florida State Fair Brahman Show was dedicated to her lifelong legacy of American Brahman. Betty found joy in working in her garden, crocheting, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. She will be forever missed by those who knew and loved her. Visitation will take place on Monday the 21st between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday the 22nd at noon at Prevatt Cemetery.
