Obituary

Betty Ann Prevatt, 87, was born in 1936 in Jacksonville, Florida and passed away peacefully on October 11, 2023, in Gainesville, Florida. At a young age, Anns family relocated from Jacksonville to the family farm in Brooker, Florida. Ann later attended Bradford High School where she was active in numerous activities including cheerleading and basketball. She graduated from BHS in 1954 and married Edwin Prevatt the following year. In 1978 Ann graduated from Rollins College with a degree in business administration and worked as the Director of Human Resources at South Lake Memorial Hospital in Clermont, Florida until her retirement.Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend whose kindness and quick sense of humor brought joy to the lives of everyone around her. She was an avid tennis fan and enjoyed playing spirited games of cards and dominoes with family and friends. Ann also enjoyed traveling, often commenting on how fortunate she was to have seen so much of the world. Her Christian faith was very important to Ann. Throughout her lifetime she was actively involved in her local church congregation. Ann is survived by her husband Edwin, daughters Melissa (Bryce) Foulke and Patricia Prevatt (Robert Reinauer), two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.A memorial service honoring Anns life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 21st, 2023, at First Christian Church of Starke. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be designated to Pulmonary Research at Mayo Clinic - Florida. Gifts can be made out to Mayo Clinic and mailed directly to Mayo Clinic, Department of Development, 4500 San Pablo Road, Jacksonville, FL 32224.
