Betty Saunders, 84, transitioned to her eternal home this past week, unexpectedly. She was employed at Northwestern Mutual for 55 years in many capacities, most recently as director of client services. Her impact on their organization is immeasurable and her legacy will continue to inspire for years to come. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, downtown Jacksonville for 56 years, where she served faithfully as co-director of senior women, in the food and dining services, and all throughout the church. Predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Charles (Bill) and her parents, John and Virgie Vicks. She is survived by her only child, Shannon Mullins (Greg); her three grandchildren, Garrett, Gabriele, and Grace; and a sister, Judy Carroll (Frankie). A celebration of life will be held on April 1, 2024 at 11 am in the Main Auditorium of First Baptist Church Downtown with Rev. Frankie Carroll and Dr. Heath Lambert officiating. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private for family only.
