Betty Wilhelmina Snider passed away peacefully at her home in Mayo, FL, surrounded by her family on August 5, 2024. She was 82 and bravely fought a long-extended illness.Betty was born in Shelburne, Ontario, Canada to Clarence and Willa Shoaff on October 4, 1941. She attended Shelburne High and went on to become a hairdresser in Hamilton, Ontario. After her first marriage and relocation to Florida with her three sons, Mark, Kirk & George Sukkel, she met her second husband Edwin Ray Snider in Ft Lauderdale, FL. They were married on December 9, 1972, and a year later, she gave birth to daughter Elizabeth Snider (Phillips). In 1974, they moved to the family farm in Mayo, FL to raise chickens and grow tobacco. Betty enjoyed living in peaceful Mayo and often referred to her home as a utopia. Later in life she began in-home caregiving for the elderly and helped raise her grandchildren at different intervals of her life. Nutrition was very important to her, and she was constantly in search of the best foods and supplements to obtain good health. This became a hobby for her, and she was well known for helping others reach their health goals. She never met a stranger and her zany, animated personality will forever be celebrated and missed! Betty is preceded in death by her Husband: Edwin "Ray" Snider, Father: Clarence Shoaff, Mother: Willa Shoaff, and Sister: Patricia Shoaff Oakley. Betty is survived by her Children: Mark Sukkel (Bronnie), Kirk Sukkel, George Sukkel (Pat) and Elizabeth Phillips (Chad).
