Betty Jean Wright

Mrs. Betty Jean Wright, age 83, of Melrose passed away at her home, Sunday, May 15, 2016. She was born in Nashville, Tennessee on May 2, 1933 to the late Ira Claire and Ada Jones. Mrs. Wright was employed by Bellsouth for 25 years prior to her retiring. She was a longtime resident of the Keystone Heights and Melrose area. Mrs. Wright had attended the Church of God in Melrose, and Safe Harbor Congressional Holiness Church in Starke; she also enjoyed reading books, especially her Bible, praying and helping others. Her survivors are her eight children, Robert Hubbard of Keystone Heights, Steve Hubbard (Janie) of Ohio, Cynthia Tipton (Rodney "Tip") of Tennessee, Deborah Brock (Chaz), William Wright, Jr., Eugene Wright, and Terri Boone (Ricky) all of Jacksonville along with Connie Riner (Thomas) of Starke. Also left behind is one sister, Sue Alvarez (Jerry) of FL, twenty six grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Wright will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, May 19, 2016 in the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Wayne Spratlin officiating. Interment will follow at Keystone Heights Cemetery. The family will begin receiving friends at 11:00 a.m. until the beginning of the services.
