Bettye Ruth Mcdonald

Bettye Ruth McDonald, 83 passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family in Tampa, FL after enduring a long term illness. Bettye was valedictorian of her graduating class at Landon High School in Jacksonville, while her late husband had a long and distinguished career with the Jacksonville Fire Department as well as the US Navy. They lived, worshiped and raised their family in the Southside of Jacksonville while residing in the same house for over 50 years. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 20th at 10:30AM the Jacksonville National Cemetery 4083 Lannie Road Jacksonville Florida with Dr. Keith Foskey officiating. Bettye is survived by her sons; Kevin McDonald and his wife (Dallas, TX), Joel McDonald and his wife (McDonough, GA) and David McDonald and his wife (Tampa, FL) as well as four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Two sisters; Carolyn Sue Bowden (Jacksonville, FL) and Pat Kenney (Foley, AL) as well as one brother George McMath (GA). Bettye is preceded in death by her husband Lt. Clarence W. McDonald, Sr., and her eldest two sons (Whitney and William) as well as her brother Lamar McMath.
