Beverly Ann Pacetti Owen Beverly Ann Pacetti Owen, 91, passed away on July 14, 2012. Mrs. Owen came from a prominent St. Augustine family, the daughter of Joseph Emmett Pacetti and Macy Marion Pinkham Pacetti. She was born on April 17, 1921. On her paternal side, the family traced their heritage to Spanish rule in St. Augustine. On her maternal side, her grandfather, William Slade Macy Pinkham, was a judge and mayor of St. Augustine, as well as a state representative in Tallahassee. Pinkham also owned one of the first hotels on the bay, the Ocean View. As a member of the St. Augustine Yacht Club, he sailed a racing vessel that in 1892 challenged the yacht of Andrew Carnegie, and won. An ancestor of the Pinkham family was designated a Patriot for his role in the American Revolutionary War. A native of St. Augustine and longtime resident of Jacksonville, she graduated from Ketterlinus High School in 1940. Her grandfather was instrumental in building the school when he served as superintendent of St .Johns County schools. In 1941, she graduated from Wesleyan Conservatory in Macon, Georgia. Mrs. Owen lived in Washington, D.C., during World War II and worked at the Pentagon. She loved dancing and was always the life of the party. She was an excellent bridge player and held a lifelong interest in the game. She retired from the federal government after more than 25 years of service. On June 24, 1950, she married Arthur Tilman Owen, the love of her life. She was predeceased by her eldest child, Arthur Ellison Owen, and her husband. She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Owen (Michael Feely) of Sarasota, and sons Stephen T. Owen and Gary M. Owen (Kelli) of Jacksonville. She also leaves to cherish her memory her grandchildren, Evan C. Feely, Lauren R. Owen and Logan R. Owen. She was predeceased by a sister, Irene Pacetti Wynn. She is survived by a sister, Hildegarde Pacetti, and two brothers, Emmett Pacetti and Pinkham Pacetti, all of St. Augustine. Services will be held on Friday, July 20, at George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard South. There will be chapel services for family and friends starting at 2 p.m. Graveside services will immediately follow at Greenlawn Cemetery with Father Ron Camarda officiating.
