Obituary

Mrs. Bonnie Lee Harris age 77, of Keystone Heights passed away in Tennessee Saturday, May 30, 2015 unexpectedly. She was born in Harlan,Iowa on January 29, 1938 to the late William and Love (Carslyle) Conrad and was a homemaker. Mrs. Harris has been a longtime resident of the area and was serving on the Board of Directors for the Bradford ARC; she was also a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Starke. In the 1950s, she was an usher at the Academy Awards and was also a volunteer on the presidential campaign for Eisenhower "I like IKE". She was an excellent skier, a world traveler and at one time a Stewardess for Western Airlines. Mrs. Harris enjoyed being with her family, working in yard; taking care of her cats and enjoyed bird watching. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Harris, Jr. in 2004 and then her daughter, Rebecca Lynn "Becky" Harris in January of this year. Survivors for Mrs. Harris is her daughter, Debra L. Wilson of Gainesville and one son, Joshua C. Harris of Jacksonville. Also left behind is one sister, Geraldine Tillinghast of St. Pete; one brother, Max Conrad of Keystone Heights; four grandchildren, Zachary, Matthew, Nicholas, and Ryan. A memorial service for Mrs. Harris will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 4900 SW 182nd Way, Starke with Pastor Ronald Mueller officiating. A reception will follow immediately at the church. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Bradford ARC, 1351 S. Water St., Starke, FL 32091 or to your local ARC.
