Braxton N. Collier, 83, passed away on Saturday May 31, 2014 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born December 10, 1930 in Bon Air, Alabama to Walter Lee & Annie Pearl Collier. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois June Collier, his parents and all ten of his siblings. He is survived by his daughters Brenda Morgan and Debbie Skinner (Greg); grandchildren Laura Chestnut and Adam Skinner; great-grandchildren Raven Tyson and Scarlett Skinner. Braxton served in the U.S. Army and National Guard from 1946 through 1952. He retired in 1992 after 30 years as a city bus driver for the JTA. Mr. Collier also volunteered with the Veteran's Administration from 2004-2012 and accumulated over 4,000 hours of service. Braxton was a friendly, kind man who loved people and enjoyed helping everyone. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday June 3, 2014 at the graveside in Jacksonville Memory Gardens, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday June 2, 2014 at George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd., S.
