Ms. Brenda Jane Luther Baucom age 63, of Starke passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Shands Hospital in Gainesville. Brenda was born on April 1, 1947 in Buford, Georgia to the late Roy Freeman and Mary Porter Luther, and moved to Starke in 1983. Brenda was a retired Home Health Care Worker, enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, reading, riding her scooter around town, and worshipping the Lord. She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law Diane Luther. Survivors are daughter and son-in-law Angie and Boyd Phillips of Hampton; daughter and son-in-law Pam and Richard Shirk of Waldo, her former son-in-law Larry Roberts of Waldo, her brother Frank Luther of Snellville, Georgia; her sister and brother-in-law Roberta and Sam Sloan of Dacula, Georgia, her grandson Dusty McElhenny and his dear friend Kim Ackerman of Waldo, and her granddaughter Kaylee Roberts of Waldo. She is also survived by her faithful feline companion Tiger, and many friends including her Community State Bank Family and her Winn Dixie family. A memorial service celebrating the incredible life of Brenda will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the DEWITT C. JONES CHAPEL in Starke with Mr. Johnny Frampton officiating.
