Mrs. Brenda Sue Forsythe Jones, 83 of Theressa, passed away on Sunday morning, September 22, 2024 at Riverwood Health and Rehab Center. Brenda was born on July 7, 1941 in Miami, Florida to Seeber and Mary Jane Judd Forsythe. Brenda grew up in the Heilbron Springs area and attended Bradford County Schools. In 1959, she married Rothelle B. (R.B.) Jones and they were together for 57 years until his death in 2016. Brenda had a career as a bus driver with the Bradford County School District and retired after 31 years of faithful service. She enjoyed gardening, music, painting and being with her family and was famous for her Sour Cream Poundcake which she shared with others often. Brenda loved Jesus and was a Sunday School teacher of 2- and 3-year-olds and 4- and 5-year olds for many years. In her latter years, she assisted with the Bible Club that was held at Hampton Elementary School. She earned a diploma from Faith Bible Institute in 2012, which is a three-year systematic study of the Bible. She attended Cornerstone Baptist Church as her health would allow and loved being with her church family. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Dick Forsythe, her husband of 57 years, Rothelle B. Jones, and her son-in-law, Mike Stanley. She is survived by her daughter Linda Sue Grayson, her husband Bobby, her son Ronnie Jones, his wife Sarah, grandchildren, Amanda Potter (Eric), Jake Stanley (Tabitha), Caleb Jones and Hannah Jones and great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Emma and Jieran Potter and Theo Stanley. She is also survived by her sisters, Arline Boudreaux and Patty Wilder (Woody), brothers Sam Mitchell (Kaoru) and Bill Mitchell (Linda), her special friend of over 50 years, Lynda Sullivan and numerous other friends and family members who will miss her sweet smile and gentle personality. A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 5th at 10:00 am, at Hope Baptist Church. A private family burial will be in Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
